Hi all,
this is John the host of Pop Music Experience on former station Jammin 85.3.
I am looking for a new station to broadcast at. My show contains mostly top40 from the last 50 years or so.
I can adopt to your format if your sation has one.
I'm famillear with most formats, but my library can acomidate the folowing formats with ease. CHR, Adult top40, Classic Rock, 60's-70's Oldies /50's-70's Oldies, Rhythmic AC, and Adult Hits. I prefer to do a request show, and lean tward CHR as my prefered format.
Though I am willing to do more of an anything goes show as I did before, I am also willling to gravitate tward the format of your station and do multiple shows with different formats if that is what you'd prefer.
My time slots are only open weekdays evenings in Eastern time, starting around 6:00 PM.
If there is any internet only stations looking for a jock that can do multiple formats and is willing to adopt to different target demmo's, please contact me and we'll work from there.
P.S. All of my shows are family friendly (Lyrics are edited and swareing from me as a jock will for the most part, not happen.
Thanks,
John
I forgot to mention that I can also do Hot AC (both the more modern rock type, and the adult top40 leaning type.)
well john. i'll consider you for the blade. but you don't have to give me demos. i'm considering bringing the blade back so keep me in mind. I'll let you know for sure man.
Hey man, sounds good. Hope you bring the blaid back. I meant demmo's as far as your target, not as far as scoped airchecks of previous shows.
If you can broadcast at one in the morning your time I can give you a slot fore hot979 once our server issues are resolved.
Otherwise I may have a saturday position open but I'm not sure on that.
Heya JH, ACB Radio Interactive is always looking for new guys, especially guys who fill in. We have a few djs who aren't always able to do their shows, so you could definitely get yourself a prime slot, and new ones are opening all the time, so you might be able to grab something on the weekends. Note ACBRI broadcasts at 128k 44.1 KHZ mp3stereo. so hopefully you have enough bandwidth to push a stream like that out there. Just throwing that out for your consideration.
Chris, fil-ins is something I never thought of doing. When one does fill-ins do they have to stick to the format of the show that was going to air arigionally? or can you do your own thing when you fill in? +how uch listenership does ACBRI have? I have been there and have looked around at it, but unless something has changed, you need to have a test broadcast and I don't have the server set up for that at the moment. I can broadcast both a 128 44.100 KHZ and 24 22000 HZ K mono streams with little interuption. Fuzzy I talked with Eric about your station and hopeing that the weekday slot that may be vacated opens up soon. I'm keepin my options open so far for stations.
Heya JH, ACBRI can provide server space should you need it so that's not much of a concern. some broadcasters don't have servers, which I think is a really good idea to do so that you know both ends of the broadcasting spectrum, but that's just a personal thing. As far as the whole fillin thing goes, that's another sort of iffy thing. Personally, I would try, as best you can, to do the format of the guy you''re filling in for, because let's face it, if people tune in expecting to hear rock or pop or oldies and they hear classical? Well, you just lost yourself a listener. However, the Pd's aren't too picky I guess, I suppose they feel like anyone who can fill in is good, so either way I suppose you'd be ok with that. All you have to do is to send an e-mail to support@acbradio.org and Chrissie, our director, can put you in touch with all the right people who can help you get your audition going. and if you don't pass the first time, you'll get multiple chances. but for best results, getting it on the first try is always best. ACBRI listenership is interesting as well, sometimes we have 40 listeners for some shows, others only get to single digits. so it's a bit up and down.
Good luck man.
